70 and 53

Those are the respective percentages of black and Hispanic voters who voted in favor of Proposition 8, a state constitutional amendment ballot initiative which defines marriage in the State of California as being between one man and one woman. Remember these figures whenever you see or read about opponents of Proposition 8 engaging in idiotic and bigoted protests against certain religious groups, like the Mormons.

Update: Well, it actually seems anti-Prop. 8 people, at least the white folk among them, are willing to don pointy headed hoods. Rather than being white, though, I'm guessing the hoods would be rainbow colored. (h/t Mark Steyn)
The verbal harassment follows a steady stream of racist comments left on this blog and many others across the gay virtual community. At least a dozen racist comments have been removed from this blog since Tuesday, such as, "Thank you Black people for denying gay people the same rights that you deserve and have", "Black people make me feel like a piece of shyt when it should have been a night of celebration for all," and the succinct, "F--K you niggers."

WTF?!

The Office of the President Elect? Really? (h/t)

Update (Post Subtitle: No He Din't!): From his podium at The Office of the President Elect, it seems that Barry took a cheap shot at 87 year old former First Lady Nancy Reagan, who is recovering from a recent fall she took which resulted in a broken hip:
In terms of speaking to former presidents, I have spoken to all of them, uh, that are, uh, living ... obviously, uh, President Clinton, uh ... [laughter] ... hey, I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan, uh, thing about doin’ any seances...
What an ass.

Suckers

Don't say you weren't warned America. (h/t)

Anti-Prop 8 Thugs Threaten and Commit Violence

Bunch of pathetic goons.
“Burn their f—ing churches to the ground, and then tax the charred timbers,” wrote “World O Jeff” on the JoeMyGod blogspot today within hours of California officials declaring Proposition 8 had been approved by a margin of 52 percent to 48 percent. Confirmation on voter approval of amendments in Florida and Arizona came earlier.

The amendments in all three states essentially limit marriage to one man and one woman. In California, the measure states the only marriages “valid and recognized” in the state are those between one man and one woman.

Thirty states now have adopted marriage amendments. However, in California, the vitriol appeared especially high since the state Supreme Court in May created same-sex marriage for homosexuals. Proposition 8 overruled the court decision, readopting the marriage definition California voters adopted in 2000.

On a blog website, “Tread” wrote, “I hope the No on 8 people have a long list and long knives.”

Another contributor to the JoeMyGod website said, “While financially I supported the Vote No, and was vocal to everyone and anyone who would listen, I have never considered being a violent radical extremist for our equal rights. But now I think maybe I should consider becoming one. Perhaps that is the only thing that will affect the change we so desperately need and deserve.”

A contributor identifying himself as “Joe” said, “I swear, I’d murder people with my bare hands this morning.”

52 Percent of American Voters Must Be Pro-Affirmative Action

That and/or pro-abortion socialists. I can't find any other explanation for the guy's election win.

Questionable Remarks by (Former) USCCB President

The United States of America elects a radically pro-abortion President, and Archbishop Wilton Gregory says it is a "a great step forward for humanity."

"Change" Means Recycling a Clintonite

I saw on the O'Reilly Factor that Barry's choice for Chief of Staff, congressman Rahm Emmanuel, is a real strident partisan, as well as self-centered.

Rumors are also swirling The One will tap John "Effin'" Kerry for Secretary of State.

Together with the selection of Joe "Loin Girder" Biden as Vice-President, the above are truly promising signs that the upcoming Obama Administration will be an unmitigated disaster.

How to Make the GOP Permanently Irrelevant

Little Green Footballs blog czar Charles Johnson channels David Frum in calling for the effective purging of social conservatives from the Republican Party. You see, it's our fault that John McCain lost.

Funny, but I don't recall McCain exactly being the first choice of social conservatives to be the Republican nominee for President. [It was you "fiscal conservatives only" who foisted McCain to the nomination by arguing that his "Maverick" (aka RINO) status would allow him to beat whoever the Democrats nominated]. And except at the Saddleback Church forum where he said the rights of children begin at conception, I never heard or saw John McCain say anything about abortion on the campaign trail. With respect to Sarah Palin, I only once vaguely recall seeing a news report of her saying something about her pro-life beliefs which caused the Obama campaign to spew some banal line about the importance of preserving "choice."

Regarding the supposedly "politically suicidal" position social conservatives have on the issue of gay rights, somebody needs to tell Charles and David that voters in 30 states, including deep blue California, have approved measures that legally define marriage as being between only one man and one woman.

Update: My guess is that having a bunch of petty back stabbing idiots on staff was a major contributor to the ineffectiveness of McCain's campaign.

Big Silver Lining

California Proposition 8 passes, despite heavy ad spending by opponents and the intentional negatively worded description of the initiative on the ballot.

Expect, of course, the enemies of traditional marriage to again try and overturn the will of the people by going to court. The horrendous decision of Lawrence v. Texas is rearing its ugly head.

Update: Maggie Gallagher notes that similar initiatives passed in Arizona and Florida, bringing the total number of states that protect traditional marriage in their constitutions to 30.

Update 2: MG also noted earlier that blacks played a significant role in the passage of Prop. 8 by supporting it 70-30. Thank you Obama?

Update 3: I'm thinking there should be a subtitle to this post called "Gay Is Not The New Black."

Update 4: The AssCrazyLibrUls file suit.

Congratulations America

You just elected a man who by all objective measures will likely replace Jimmy Carter as the crappiest President is U.S. history. I say "likely" because there's always a chance the anticipated Obama socialist train will get derailed a bit by a 1994-like congressional flip in 2010. Barring this hoped for event, when you finally realize in the next few years that Obama is nothing but an empty suit leftist, let me be the first to say "I told you so."

Democrats Signaling End to Free Speech

Don't say you were never warned about this stuff Obama voters
Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Tuesday defended the so-called Fairness Doctrine in an interview on Fox News, saying, “I think we should all be fair and balanced, don’t you?”

Schumer’s comments echo other Democrats’ views on reviving the Fairness Doctrine, which would require radio stations to balance conservative hosts with liberal ones.

Asked if he is a supporter of telling radio stations what content they should have, Schumer used the fair and balanced line, claiming that critics of the Fairness Doctrine are being inconsistent.

“The very same people who don’t want the Fairness Doctrine want the FCC [Federal Communications Commission] to limit pornography on the air. I am for that… But you can’t say government hands off in one area to a commercial enterprise but you are allowed to intervene in another. That’s not consistent.”

In 2007, Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), a close ally of Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) told The Hill, “It’s time to reinstitute the Fairness Doctrine. I have this old-fashioned attitude that when Americans hear both sides of the story, they’re in a better position to make a decision.”

Senate Rules Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) last year said, “I believe very strongly that the airwaves are public and people use these airwaves for profit. But there is a responsibility to see that both sides and not just one side of the big public questions of debate of the day are aired and are aired with some modicum of fairness.”

Conservatives fear that forcing stations to make equal time for liberal talk radio would cut into profits so significantly that radio executives would opt to scale back on conservative radio programming to avoid escalating costs and interference from the FCC.

They also note that conservative radio shows has been far more successful than liberal ones.

Dear Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia and Other Coal Producing States:

Barack Obama, Democrat Party nominee for United States President, wants to destroy a significant part of your economies. Please vote accordingly tomorrow.

Change? Really?

I was talking to a former co-worker today, who is convinced that Barry O. is going to win tomorrow. He isn't a fan of Barry, though, and made an interesting observation about his campaign theme of "change." Obama's campaign theme, of course, is essentially based upon the fact that the very unpopular President Bush is a Republican, and John McCain has admitted to voting with President Bush over 90 percent of the time. In other words, Obama argues that voting in John McCain would effectively result in a third term for President Bush.

But would an Obama administration really sweep in change, i.e., change for the better? Considering the fact that both houses of Congress are controlled by the Democrats, and Barry as a U.S. Senator has voted with both Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid at least 90 percent of the time, I'm thinking not really. If there is any "change" that occurs, it wouldn't seem to be anything more than an extension of the failed and unpopular policies that have come out of the Democratically controlled Congress the last couple of years. And oh by the way, Congress has an even lower approval rate than President Bush.
